Upskill Agents exists because the founder needed it to exist, and it didn't. So we built it — first for our own four kids, now for yours.

I'm an American living in Vilseck, Germany under SOFA status. My spouse works for DoDEA, and our four children are at four different stages of the journey this site is about — including one heading to the UK to study law.
When our oldest started applying, we discovered what every OCONUS family discovers: the advice industry is built for families who stay put. Stateside consultants didn't understand DoDEA transcripts, couldn't make our timezone, and had never heard of the Interstate Compact. We figured it out ourselves — UCAS and Common App in parallel, credit transfers after moves, testing logistics from a base in Bavaria.
Upskill Agents turns that hard-won, lived experience into a professional practice: independent, evidence-based guidance for families like ours — and for the service members, spouses and educators around us planning their own next chapter — wherever the orders take you.

IECA-trained, standards-led
Ryan completed the Independent Educational Consultants Association's Summer Training Institute (2025) and has applied for IECA Associate membership; the application is under review. Upskill Agents operates by IECA's Principles of Good Practice — transparent fees, student-first advice, no commissions from institutions.
